The Seattle Mandolin Orchestra, in collaboration with the Seattle-Isfahan Music Project, presents The Wheel–a program of new music by American and Iranian composers centered on the poetry of Omar Khayyam, the 12th-century Persian poet and astronomer. On the program is my piece Of Seven and the Four, for guitar quartet, mandolin orchestra, strings, and soprano.

May 11th-13th

The Harry Partch Festival begins this Friday, May 11th, and consists of three days of world premieres, rare works, scholarly presentations, and workshops. The final concert (Sunday, May 13th, 7:30pm), includes the world premiere of my piece Where All That’s Solid Melts Into Air, written for the Harry Partch Instrumentarium and commissioned by the University of Washington School of Music.
